“Juneteenth is an affirmation that despite the most painful chapter in our history, America’s potential for change is limitless. We reflect on our nation’s past, our nation’s progress, and how each of us contribute to building a better future for everyone who calls our country home.
With urgency, we must work to correct the racial injustices and inequalities that remain deeply rooted in many parts of society, including in our healthcare, education and criminal justice systems, which is excluding many families from the American Dream. As we reflect and rejoice, we also recommit to action, to civic engagement, to voter empowerment, and to progress and freedom for all.”
